Good Habits For Flu Prevention:

The single best way to prevent the flu is to get vaccinated each year, but good health habits like covering your mouth when you cough, and washing your hands often can help prevent respiratory illnesses like the flu. There are also flu antiviral drugs that can be used to treat and prevent the flu.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
  • Clean your hands.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth -- a way of spreading germs from contaminated surfaces that you may touch.
  • Practice other good health habits:
    Get Plenty of Sleep
    Be Physically Active
    Manage Your Stress
    Drink Plenty of Fluids
    Eat Nutritious Foods
